How to change Outlook password?


To access emails of your Outlook account you are required to enter your email address and password. If you have recently changed your password you need to enter the new password to access your account. The password is the security key for an account and you need to keep updating it frequently in order to avoid any illegal access. Same goes for your Outlook account whose password can be changed by changing the Microsoft Account password. 1. Outlook connected accounts


  • Click on the ‘File’ tab and then select ‘Info’ to go to the ‘Account Information’ section.
  • Now, click on the ‘Account Settings’ option and then select ‘Account Settings’ where you will see all your connected accounts.
  • Now select the account for which you want to change the password.
  • Clicking on the ‘Change’ option will open the details of the account you have selected.
  • Now enter the password you want to enter for your account under the ‘Logon Information’ section.
  • Now click ‘Next’ to save your settings and to test the password login again to your Outlook account.


  2. Outlook data file


  • Click on the ‘File’ tab and select ‘Info’ to check the account’s information.
  • Click on ‘Account Settings’ and then select ‘Account Settings’ to open the account settings window.
  • Click on the ‘Data File’ tab which will display the information on your Outlook Data files.
  • Now, select ‘Outlook Data file’ and then click on ‘Settings’ to get the data file settings.
  • Now click on the ‘Change Password’ option and then enter your old password to create a new one. Enter the new password again to confirm it.


3. Outlook.com


  • First, you have to go to the Microsoft Account reset password page to change your Outlook password.
  • Click on the ‘I forgot my password’ link and then click on ‘Next’.
  • Now enter your Microsoft Account and enter the given captcha.
  • Then you have to select how you want to receive the reset code.
  • After receiving the reset code, enter it to go to the password reset page.
  • Now enter the new password twice to set it for your Outlook account.
